Account Director / Team Leader - London
Basic to £65,000 plus full benefits
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To manage effectively and develop a portfolio of clients for whom the company provide consultancy services in respect regulated products. To lead the Training and competence monitoring in respect of regulated activities within the Consulting and team. To work with and manage a team of staff providing services in respect of corporate employee benefit schemes and insured regulated pension products. To check & sign-off junior team members work with a high level of accuracy. To provide assistance, guidance & supervision to junior team members. To encourage continual professional development via regular review of performance, objectives & training requirements. Management of staff in accordance with the Company’s “Employers Guide to Employment Practices”. To participate in the efficient running of the department. Report to Head of Consultancy.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effective servicing and retention of a portfolio of corporate employee benefit clients who have regulated products. Development of additional business and referrals from the client portfolio. Working in coordination with other teams who have responsibilities for non regulated services from clients who also have regulated services. Meeting with sponsoring employers and members/potential members of our regulated product portfolio. Monitoring cost-effectiveness of existing clients and ensuring that appropriate contractual agreements are in place. Provide input to written and presentational materials for use by the department generally. Working with new business team to attract new clients. Preparing announcements, booklets, presentations and other communications material, both for clients and for internal purposes. Maintaining central monitoring system for client advice, keeping track of, statutory deadlines and appropriate compliance files. Conduct group meetings with individual scheme members/potential members to explain their benefits and options. Research and report writing on specific subjects. Compliance with FSA requirements and company policies. Inspiring, supporting and developing members of the team to achieve outstanding levels of performance. Delivery of business objectives through effective setting of personal and teams’ goals. Constantly seeking to improve the way business is done through analysis, creativity, problem solving and change initiatives. Undertake reviews and appraisals for staff as and when required. Set objectives and complete and monitor behavioural and technical competencies. To participate in effective two way communication between staff & management, e.g. by holding/attending regular team meetings. To be aware of new technical or legislative changes within the market place. To comply at all times with the requirements of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, and the FSA Principles, Rules and the Code of Practice for Approved Persons. Identify and report risks and breaches immediately to the Operational Risk & Compliance Department, and promote an environment which encourages all staff to do the same. Adhere to the ISO and Investors in People Standards, Quality Management System and comply with pensions and FSA regulations and initiatives, for example, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Appropriate Financial Services qualification, e.g. full Financial Planning Certificate, ideally diploma qualified. Strong pensions technical knowledge – able to interpret complicated legislation for communication at all levels. Good record keeping and organisational skills. Good presentation skills both written and oral. Self motivated and able to work alone and as part of a team. Good managerial skills. Good communication skills
